SAFE AIR

Indoor levels of pollutants may be two to five times — and occasionally more than 100 times — higher than outdoor levels”
Quote from The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

While many people focus on outdoor air when they hear ‘air pollution’, you may be surprised to learn that the EPA has discovered indoor air contains 2 to 5 times and potentially as much as 100 times more contaminants than the air outdoors!

Take control of the indoor air quality in your home or office. Indoor air pollution is made up of solid and liquid particles that are suspended in your air – or particulate matter. These suspended particles can consist of dust, metals, smoke, liquid droplets, chemicals and pollen. And most contaminants aren’t visible. Indoor air pollution has truly become one of the most serious environmental threats to your health. Yet, no government agency monitors or controls it and studies on its health effects are limited.

Are you paying as much attention to what you’re breathing into your lungs as you are to what you’re eating and drinking? It may be just as important.

Dangerous particles from wildfires

  • Particles

  • Toxic Gases (CO2; CO; NOx; SOx; Ozone)

  • Solvents & Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs)

  • Toxic Metals

  • Herbicides & Pesticides

  • Perfluoronated Compounds

  • Plastics

  • PCB’s

  • Asbestos

These pollutants can contribute to the development of allergies, headaches, general fatigue, thyroid disorders, memory and fertility issue and even more serious conditions like cancer or nervous system disorders. Some, like formaldehyde, certain VOCs and flame retardants are known or suspected carcinogens. Others can potentially harm your thyroid, IQ, memory and fertility.

Besides build up and form a greasy dirty film you may see on your air-intake vent, a clue to the quality of your indoor air might be how you feel. Do you sometimes experience any of these symptoms for no apparent reason?

  • Itchy, watery eyes

  • Runny nose

  • Scratchy throat

  • Headaches

  • Dizziness

  • Forgetfulness

  • Fatigue

  • Moodiness

Types of contaminants that could be in your house

  • Formaldehyde from paint, bookshelves, cabinets, beds, plastics, cosmetics, fabrics, pillows and drapes

  • VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, from paint, pesticides, building and hobby materials, cleaners and cabinetry

  • Lead from old paint (simply opening an old painted window can release it into your air)

  • Airborne bacteria and viruses from humans, pets, moist surfaces and ventilation systems

  • Flame-retardant chemicals from furniture, carpeting and mattresses

  • Fragrances and other chemicals from candles and cleaning and laundry supplies

  • Mold, mildew and other pollutants from faulty plumbing and leaky foundations and roofs

  • Dander and allergens from pets and other animals

  • Tobacco smoke, including second- and third-hand smoke

  • Compounds from cooking. Roasting or frying food creates organic compound byproducts and without proper ventilation, Korean researchers have found the concentration of these dust particles can reach levels 25 times higher than what’s considered “very unhealthy!”

Size Does Matter

Size matters when it comes to pollutants. Particles 10 micrometers (or microns) in diameter or smaller (like the organic compounds, mold, metals, chemicals and pollen in your indoor air) can be inhaled, penetrate tissue and lodge deep inside your lungs. From there they can enter your bloodstream and damage your heart and other organs. To appreciate how small these particles truly are, below you can see how these common particles compare to a human hair and a few grains of beach sand! PM stands for particulate matter (also called particle pollution): the term for a mixture of solid particles and liquid droplets found in the air. Some particles, such as dust, dirt, soot, or smoke, are large or dark enough to be seen with the naked eye. Others are so small they can only be detected using an electron microscope.

Particle pollution includes:

  • PM10 : inhalable particles, with diameters that are generally 10 micrometers and smaller; and

  • PM2.5 : fine inhalable particles, with diameters that are generally 2.5 micrometers and smaller.

    • How small is 2.5 micrometers? Think about a single hair from your head. The average human hair is about 70 micrometers in diameter – making it 30 times larger than the largest fine particle.

What are the Harmful Effects of PM?

Particulate matter contains microscopic solids or liquid droplets that are so small that they can be inhaled and cause serious health problems. Some particles less than 10 micrometers in diameter can get deep into your lungs and some may even get into your bloodstream. Of these, particles less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter, also known as fine particles or PM2.5, pose the greatest risk to health.

Clinically Proven, Medical Grade Air Purifying System

Here is the air purification system I trust designed to effectively remove chemicals, gases, VOC’s and formaldehyde.

This broad-spectrum adsorption makes it the best choice for people exposed to smoke from wildfires and people living close to busy highways.

The HEPA technology used in this filter is clinically proven to remove 95% of all pollutants as small as 0.1 microns.  The COVID-19 virus is larger than this, at 0.12 microns in size. So we are confident our air purifiers are effectively removing the vast majority of the virus when it is airborne.

However, it is important to mention, that as well as airborne transmission, the virus can also be spread via surfaces and human contact. Therefore, it is vital that we regularly wash our hands and practice social distancing.

Who should consider this air purifying system?

  • Anyone needing an efficient way of removing wood burning smoke, formaldehyde and other dangerous VOCs

  • Individuals suffering from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS)

  • Those with pre-existing health concerns

  • Individuals in high particle and gas contaminated areas

Health Benefits

  • Eases headaches and reduces nausea related to chemical exposure

  • Strengthens the immune system

  • Eases coughing, wheezing and sneezing

  • Reduces dry mouth and runny nose

  • Sounder sleep

  • Reduced snoring

  • Lessen night time allergies and asthma attacks

Why is HealthMate Plus the best choice?

  • Designed for highly contaminated indoor air conditions

  • Affordable and effective

  • Extremely adept at removing particles in the air including formaldehyde, elements of smoke, dust and pollens

  • Exceptional capacity for removing Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

  • Filters viruses and bacteria

I use my air purifier once every 3 days now that the smoke and particles from the fires has settled. It is part of my routine now because there are many other toxins floating around at all times and it helps to keep allergies at bay. If I have gatherings I use it in the room to ward off viruses.

This unit retails for $715. Contact us to purchase this air purifier at 10% discount off retail (Anahata Holistic Healing is an authorized dealer).
